I Started Smoking After Becoming Famous for ‘Stars of the Future’ – Irene Logan Discusses Her addictions After Fame .

Rene Logan debuted on the Ghanaian music scene in 2006 after winning the music reality show “Stars of the Future.” She met Efya on the show, and the two went on to establish Irene and Jane, a music group that propelled her to prominence and introduced her to a new way of life.

Though everything appeared to be going well for the singer at the time, she has since revealed that being thrust into the spotlight posed a significant challenge for her because it required her to perform acts she was unfamiliar with.

“After Stars of the Future, probably after a year, I began smoking cigarettes. It’s worth noting that I come from a family that values privacy. My mother has never smoked a single cigarette in her life. My father was never a smoker, and I never saw him do so. “Neither of my parents drink,” she explained.
She continued, “so just having that freedom to get out there and be exposed, trying to fit in,” during an interview to promote her new Gospel song. It looked very appealing to sit in areas where I could see people smoking openly.

“And I remember coughing the first time I started smoking, and everyone laughed at me.” I was furious because I had hoped to defeat it. So that’s how I got started,” she explained.

Irene admitted to depressing herself. She progressed from a few smokes per day to a pack per day, then two packs per day. However, the gospel singer has been able to kick her smoking habit.

She stated on Peace FM that she was ‘cured’ by an oil anointing. “The calling kept growing stronger, it was like there was a struggle for my soul,” she explained of her new life as a dedicated Christian.
